1 Week Before the Photoshoot
Stick to your regular skincare routine—no new products or treatments.
If needed, get a professional facial at least 5–7 days before the shoot (not the day before).
Stay hydrated—drink plenty of water daily.
Avoid tanning beds or heavy sun exposure to prevent redness or peeling.
Daily Routine Leading Up to the Shoot
Morning:
Cleanse gently with a non-stripping face wash.
Apply a hydrating toner or facial mist.
Use a Vitamin C serum or antioxidant-rich product.
Moisturize with a lightweight, non-comedogenic cream.
Apply SPF 30+ every day, even if you’re indoors.
Evening:
Remove makeup thoroughly with micellar water or cleansing balm.
Cleanse again to double-cleanse.
Use a gentle serum (hyaluronic acid for hydration or niacinamide for balance).
Moisturize with a more nourishing cream or overnight mask.
1–2 Times a Week
Exfoliate with a gentle scrub or chemical exfoliant (AHA/BHA) to remove dead skin cells.
Apply a face mask that suits your skin type (hydrating, detoxifying, or calming).
Night Before the Shoot
Avoid trying new products or exfoliating the night before.
Apply a calming or hydrating sheet mask (aloe, oat, or hyaluronic acid based).
Moisturize and let your skin rest—get 7–9 hours of sleep.
Avoid alcohol, greasy foods, and salty snacks to reduce puffiness.
Morning of the Shoot
Cleanse and moisturize as usual.
Use a light, non-greasy moisturizer to avoid shine or product buildup under makeup.
Avoid sunscreen if the shoot is indoors and makeup will be applied immediately.
Arrive with a clean face unless otherwise instructed.
Pro Tip: Clean skin photographs better, allows makeup to apply more evenly, and ensures less retouching is needed in post-production. Your skin doesn’t have to be perfect—just healthy and cared for.
